Caylia Wolmarans

Caylia grew up in Kempton Park, Gauteng, where she matriculated from Hoërskool Kempton Park in 2019.   

Caylia commenced with her studies in 2020 at the North West University, Potchefstroom campus and obtained her Baccalaureus Legum Degree (LLB) in 2023.  

Caylia was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court on the 28^th of April 2026 in the Pretoria High Court before the Honourable Justices Labuschagne J and Mkhabela J.

During the admission of Miss Wolmarans, Labuschagne J delivered a memorable speech on what it is to be a fit and proper legal practitioner, of which we wish to quote the following resonant phrase:

“The entire structure of our Democracy requires that there be trust in the courts and in the legal practitioners who practice in it.  Trust is dependent on integrity.  There may be instances where you will have to make difficult choices; always make them in favour of transparency and integrity. This is a Constitutional Democracy in which all of us, even the poorest of the poor, bear rights that need protecting, and the legal practitioners will be called upon at times to act to make sure that all persons’ rights are a reality and not some illusory dream”.
