BE WARY OF STRANGE FRIEND REQUESTS AND OUT OF THE BLUE CHATS ON FACEBOOK MESSANGER FROM STRANGE PEOPLE

It is important to approach strange friend requests and/or chats from random people with caution on social media, and it is more important to be cautious with what information you provide to random strangers.

One of our clients received a friend request from a lady by the name of Amelia Du Toit. This particular lady requested our client to provide his cell number to her in order to chat on WhatsApp.

Her profile contained the following photos:

It seems that they had a lovely conversation with each other and one thing lead to another. It eventually ended up where our client provided sensitive photos to this lady. Immediately thereafter it turned out that our client was having a conversation with a gentleman from Nigeria, attempting to exhort our client. This gentleman indicated to our client that should our client fail to transfer R2 000.00 through Checkers Money Market to him, within two hours, they were going to leak our client’s sensitive photos.

After we conducted our research it was found that the lady in the picture was actually a person whom makes a living in the Adult Filming Industry abroad. The profile which was created is clearly a false profile and that Mrs Du Toit was not actually whom she pretended to be.
